Kamila: I wanted to write a Latin tune for my beautiful fiancé Kami because we love Latin music, so I wrote one for my funk/rock band. The band wasn’t in love with the way it sounded at first, so I decided to rearrange it for a jazz group. That’s why the song follows more of a modern song form with multiple verses, a hook, solo section, and a bridge. The hook is a riff that the bassist from my funk/rock band showed to me after rehearsal one night.
Described as “an ecological history of humanity,” this sparse, tense suite of songs perfectly balances melody and chaos. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2018
